Bastian aka BastiGHG is a German streamer on Twitch. The content creator, born in Brandenburg on August 5, 1997, has been actively streaming on the platform since 2014. In addition to his stream, he runs two YouTube channels.
Born in Brandenburg, he successfully completed his Abitur in 2016. He took one of his written exams in English and his oral exam in computer science. He didn’t start his studies afterwards, but instead became self-employed full-time as a content creator. BastiGHG has a younger sister.
Basti attaches great importance to his privacy, so little is known about his life away from streaming and YouTube. For example, he never shows his face, but his last name or other information about his partner are not public either. He lives in Berlin.
From German Hunger Games to BastiGHG
Back in 2012, Bastian opened the YouTube channel “German Hunger Games HD” together with his buddy Patrick. True to its name, they uploaded content for the Minecraft game mode Hunger Games.Due to problems with their YouTube network at the time, the two founded the KompetenzGHG channel at the end of May 2014.
Shortly after founding the new channel, however, Patrick lost interest in YouTube, and Basti continued on his own. The channel was later renamed BastiGHG. The “GHG” stands for “German Hunger Games” and is thus reminiscent of Bastian’s beginnings on YouTube.
The streamer and YouTuber experienced a push through his participation in the Minecraft PVP project Varo. The Austrian creator Veni brought him to the event at the time.
Today, Basti is best known on YouTube for his elaborate Minecraft challenges. These usually contain complex intro sequences and in-game features specially programmed for the video. He employs a whole series of editors for this.
